The NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) seeks to work with the news media to educate and inform the public about NOAA GLERL activities and overall mission. To encourage accurate reporting, we help the media reach NOAA Great Lakes experts and information and we help our experts communicate their knowledge clearly. We work to develop strong and trusting relationships with reporters by being accessible, responsive, and helpful.
Our work directly supports NOAA's service mission to communicate our research, data, information, and knowledge with others, as well as NOAA's objective of an engaged public with an improved capacity to make scientifically informed environmental decisions.
